Lisa was born and raised in Mariestad, Sweden. At the age of 4, she started skating and pretty early on, it was clear that figure skating was going to become a big part of her life. As a young girl, she went to see a Holiday on Ice show in Stockholm and ever after that, her dream was to one day join the show. That dream became reality shortly after her graduation when she was hired as a professional figure skater by Feld Entertainment for the new show called "Starlight Express on Ice". Throughout her 16 years of touring the world with companies like Disney on Ice and Holiday on Ice, she also made a career within the show. For the last 6 years, she acted as the touring Performance Director.
Lisa was only 12 years old when she started making her own skating dresses and practice clothes. It soon grew in to a passion and a freelance business, that would keep her busy during her teenage years and later on during her off time from touring. She landed some break work as well in the costume department with two different Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas and it was a great opportunity for her to pick up valuable knowledge about costume construction. After retiring from the touring life in 2013, she was hired as Assistant Costume Designer for "Barbie LIVE" the musical and after that she has been the Costume Supervisor for the new theater Wallis Annenberg Center of the Performing Arts, in Beverly Hills. In March 2014, she formed her own company, Lisa McKinnon Designs Inc, and is currently working on developing her new business and pursuing her next chapter of dreams in her life.
